| The remediation process can either be Invasive or Non-Invasive depending on the moisture source. Call Remediation Group today to schedule a property evaluation to determine if either method is necessary. |
|
Non-Invasive Remediation - The remediation process consists mostly of HEPA vacuuming, sanding, wiping surfaces and HEPA filtering the air. Most building materials with visible surface growth which are non-porous or semi-porous, like (wood, glossy painted wood, glass, metal, ceramic etc.) can be effectively decontaminated and pass Third-Party Environmental Assessment (Testing). Surface mold growth usually occurs due to an increase in Relative Humidity (Rh) and therefore Non-Invasive Remediation may be an option for your home. |

Invasive Remediation - The remediation process consists of discarding, removing or demolishing porous building materials that can not be decontaminated as described in the Non-invasive definition. Many times Invasive remediation is necessary because the moisture source is in liquid form and has saturated or worked its way behind wall cavities. This can be caused by moisture infiltrating your home exterior envelope and or a water source/water pipe inside the home has drained into the house causing water damage to building materials (busted water pipes, seepage, flooding, roof leaks, etc.) These are all examples of a water infiltration and will many times result in material damage that requires some level of invasive remediation.
