Morningside Project – RGI Commercial

ImageImageImageImageImageRGI Commercial was contracted for structural drying services by Morrow Construction and Davis Development for damage caused by rain water entry during installation of the roof system in the 4 story, multi-family apartment complex.  The scope of work involved sealing off of exterior openings (including open soffits on the 4th floor), installation of subpanel boxes to accomodate power needs, the set up of 150 air moving machines and 3 large 5,000 CFM desiccant dehumidifiers evenly distributing dry air throughout the building.  RGI Commercial successfully brought down the moisture content of the building materials to the targeted 17% reading, thus achieving the engineering firm’s drying criteria.
The second phase of the project included mold remediation services.  The scope of work consisted of dry ice blasting of all exposed framing, HEPA vacuuming of all exposed surfaces, set up of negative air differentials and HEPA filtration, application of EPA approved encapsulate to exposed framing, and application of commercial strength hydrogen peroxide to the attic framing.  The remediation protocol that was developed by the engineering firm hired by the General Contractor was strictly adhered to by RGI Commercial.
