Frequently Asked Questions
Have a quick question? Below are answers to the questions we see most often regarding our services, insurance expertise, qualifications and property evaluations. Q’s still whirling around your head? Give us a call and our representatives will do their best to help you out!
Do you need mold testing?
We do not do mold testing and recommend that you contact an Indoor Environmental Professional (IEP) to handle this for you. There are regulations and laws put in place in many states that prohibit mold removal or mold remediation contractors from testing mold. Georgia does not have these regulations in place to protect consumers for misguided and unethical testing, so we warn all consumers to be mindful of certifications and whether or not the remediator you hire has Errors and Omissions insurance specific to mold inspection and testing services. Ultimately, It is a conflict of interest for the mold remediator to dictate to the consumer how largely they are affected by mold in their home or property. Contact our office for IEP recommendations in Atlanta.
Why do we need a property evaluation in order to receive a quote/estimate?
Our goal at Remediation Group, Inc. is to provide you with fully accurate information as we work together with you should our services be needed. Providing a quote sight unseen allows for too many unknowns to be able to advise our clients with the correct information on how to proceed and what the costs are to do so. We offer free property evaluations and provide all with a free quote upon meeting at the property to fully understand the scope of work needed to rid your home or property of environmental materials or damage.
How long do property evaluations last?
The average duration of a property evaluation typically ranges from 30 minutes to an hour.
What should I expect at my property evaluation?
A typical property evaluation consists of the following things:
- Visual Mold Inspection
- Assessment of Building Envelope
- Moisture Mapping (Use of Moisture Meters)
- Relative Humidity (Rh) and Temperature readings
- Assist with determining the moisture source
Our scope consultants are trained and certified to help answer any related questions you may have regarding the findings in your home or at your property.
If I do not own the property, can I still have your services performed?
Work must be authorized by the owner of the home/property/unit or the management company. If the owner/manager/ landlord, etc. of the property has not give Remediation Group, Inc. the “okay” to perform the work, …
